One of my dearest friends <a href="http://krissy.vox.com/library/posts/tags/steve/">Steve</a> has worked with Jason Newsted for quite a while, so he&#39;s been involved in the show for the past few months.&#160; Thanks to Steve I&#39;ll be heading to LA to see a taping soon!&#160; </p><p>Also, one of the contestants, <a href="http://patricepike.com/">Patrice Pike</a>, has been a fixture in the Austin music scene for more than a decade (maybe two?)&#160; My first music industry internship out of college was at <a href="http://www.answers.com/topic/sister-7">Arista Austin</a>, which put out an album by her band <a href="http://sister7.com/">Sister 7</a>, and she also played at the Jeff Buckley tribute I put together in Austin in the fall of &#39;97.</p><p>They killed it casting the women this season, but where did they find all these weak, uninteresting men??&#160;
