Since completing my first 5K run last November, I'm in the market to find another one. The other day I remembered that my friend Tim (a former coworker at V2 Records) is an avid runner, and after a brief IM conversation I found out that he placed 2nd in the Run Wild event that Kimberly and I ran in! I'm definitely going to hit him up for some information on upcoming running events.
So far I've found these:
Jan. 29th: YMCA Chinese New Year 5K/10K Run/Walk
February 4th: Kaiser Permanente San Francisco Half Marathon and 5K Run/Walk 2007
It's been a little too cold in San Francisco lately to run outside, but I want to pick one of these and get back in gear. Anyone want to join me?
Inspired in part by Adriana and Alaina's recent run in the New York City marathon, I just signed up for the California Academy of Science's Run Wild 5K/10K through Golden Gate Park on November 26th.
I've never run 6.2 miles before, but I did log 4 miles (in a row) on a treadmill a few months ago and I just bought some new running shoes from Sports Basement that actually fit! (I had no idea they made narrow width running shoes.) I'm not a Serious Runner by any means and have no ambitions (or willpower) to run a marathon in this lifetime -- I'm just looking for a challenge.
There's plenty of time to sign up if you're interested.
