Currently, my wallpaper is this:

I took it at my birthday party this year at The Homestead, probably one of my favorite bars in San Francisco.  You can see the little "H" stamped on my wrist.  I had just moved back to the city about five days prior.  The beer I was drinking was dark with coffee and chocolate flavors in it - in short: delicious.  I played a bunch of songs on the jukebox that night.  Even though you can't see them, lots of my friends were there.  This photo makes me really happy.

I'm trying to post more often on art is the new religion, so here's another roundup to catch you up through mid-March.

In anticipation of seeing my dear friend David Poe at SXSW, I shared a live performance of one of my favorite songs of his. 

Another longtime friend of mine, Chris in Ann Arbor, says he enjoys reading my blog but that I shouldn't point out when I'm writing about my friends.  I think it would be weird to pretend I don't know someone I'm writing about.  Hmm, thoughts?

I finally started shopping for Christmas presents yesterday.  I tried to buy local and handmade, hitting up the Blue Genie Art Bazaar, the Armadillo Christmas Bazaar, and the Keep Austin Bizarre.  (If any of you have shopping to do in Austin, the Blue Genie event was the best of the bunch.)  I have a few things left to pick up today and then I'll be done, or really close to done.

While we're talking about gifts, here's my completely unreasonable wishlist:

The only thing on my reasonable wishlist is:  phone calls, letters & visits from friends.  And it looks like those wishes are being granted, so I've got everything I need.  :)
