Inspired in part by Adriana and Alaina's recent run in the New York City marathon, I just signed up for the California Academy of Science's Run Wild 5K/10K through Golden Gate Park on November 26th.
I've never run 6.2 miles before, but I did log 4 miles (in a row) on a treadmill a few months ago and I just bought some new running shoes from Sports Basement that actually fit! (I had no idea they made narrow width running shoes.) I'm not a Serious Runner by any means and have no ambitions (or willpower) to run a marathon in this lifetime -- I'm just looking for a challenge.
There's plenty of time to sign up if you're interested.
