Harold is a really good friend. Because of his generosity, I'm now listening to Ys on my headphones!

Listening to it at work feels wrong though. I think I need to buy it on double gatefold vinyl, go home, close my bedroom door and pore over the lyrics and liner notes while just absorbing it. The orchestra; her voice that is stronger, clearer and even more her; the coils and knots of melody; all the rumored $250,000 that was spent on making it.

What's gatefold vinyl?

It's when the record opens out in a giant, um, centerfold of sorts, instead of just acting as a cardboard envelope/pita pocket. Like this.

the vinyl packaging is incredible...there's an 8-page record size lyric booklet stapled into the gatefold sleeve with illustrations and credits and such. it's really nice.

I'm so glad to hear that -- this is definitely one to buy on vinyl!

I see! I like that kind.
