Rock Star: Supernova

I loved watching the first season of Rock Star (INXS), but this time around I have a personal interest in it.  One of my dearest friends Steve has worked with Jason Newsted for quite a while, so he's been involved in the show for the past few months.  Thanks to Steve I'll be heading to LA to see a taping soon! 

Also, one of the contestants, Patrice Pike, has been a fixture in the Austin music scene for more than a decade (maybe two?)  My first music industry internship out of college was at Arista Austin, which put out an album by her band Sister 7, and she also played at the Jeff Buckley tribute I put together in Austin in the fall of '97.

They killed it casting the women this season, but where did they find all these weak, uninteresting men??  If they don't choose a woman as the lead singer of Supernova, they're all out of their minds.

Chris -- He's already alternated between flat-ironing his hair and letting it go naturally wavy.  So not rock.
Dana -- Should have auditioned for American Idol.
Josh -- He has no reason to be so smug.
Ryan -- zzzzzz
Jill -- She's way too earnest for this band.
Matt -- Tommy Lee would have eaten him alive.
