If you would have told me yesterday that this album existed, I probably would have assumed you were joking. But I've seen it with my own eyes now:

Raising Sand

An unlikely duo reimagines lesser-known classics with moody style, taking on everyone from Tom Waits to Townes van Zandt.

I just listened to it on Rhapsody and it's...pleasant.

As a somewhat pathological zephead, I've been hearing about this album for a while. I really like the tracks I've heard so far. Robert Plant's voice is a shadow of what it once was, but it actually seems to suit this kind of material, and his rapport with Alison Krauss recalls for me the magic of Battle of Evermore, with Plant and Sandy Denny dueling vocal cord to vocal cord.

I just downloaded this half an hour ago. How funny! I'm excited to give it a listen.
