Running into Aaron

I remember Grandaddy. They were good. When I got my CDs out of storage one of the albums I was able to renew my acquaintance with was their 2000 release "The Sophtware Slump" which I hadn't listened to since 2001.
The Sophtware Slump is a great album. I started working at V2 right when they were due to turn that album in to the label for a first listen. The band FedExed in a cassette tape of pure ridiculousness that had my boss and the rest of the department heads practically in tears before they let them in on the practical joke. So it made everyone that much more excited when we got the real masters. :)

man, i miss grandaddy. i saw them open for coldplay way back when and was hooked. aaron's work as an artist is really good too.

random fact for the day: i used to be a promotions kid for v2 until the sadness happened in december! small world huh?
AHH! I LOVE Grandaddy! "Stray dog and the chocolate shake" is the best! It's one of my ringers on my phone.
I want that ringtone! And I would have never guessed you knew Grandaddy's music.

..and I never would have guessed you knew Grandaddy band members! (-; I cut the file to make it a ringtone on my phone. I could have just talked to you and maybe you could have gotten me some live sounds! Damn!

Yes - the music biz is a tiny world! Speaking of Grandaddy, have you heard Jim Fairchild's solo record yet? I need to check it out...
