OK. I love Emmylou Harris. She is a phenomenon. Her voice is unmistakable and she's made amazing, lasting contributions to music. And she's way sexy with her long silver hair.

But I'm calling for a moratorium, Emmylou: No more contributing backing vocals on other people's albums. For at least a year. Just take 12 months off. Please. So it can be surprising and endearing again.

Listening to this album sent me over the edge, I guess.

ok, I'm confused. I loved loved loved her on Trapeze with Patty!! Are you saying that she needs to be a hermit or ???

I've had a long day so all apologies if I'm being as dense as the Black Forest but....um yeah. lol

I love her too, but I've reached my tipping point of hearing her on too many albums. Seems like it's become a cliche for her to appear on backing vocals on any established singer-songwriter's new record.

But read this with a sense of humor -- I'm really not that worried about it. :)

She does tend to do the back-up vox thing quite a bit, doesn't she? Started with Graham ... last year, the duet thing with Mark Knoplfler ... now this.

But she's damn good at it. Maybe I should call her for my next.

I just saw Patty in concert a week ago and she put on a great performance. I just got to say though that when I listen to Emmylou I am more often reminded of Nanci Griffith than Griffin. Oh well...................

"Living With Ghosts" is probably in my top 10 albums of all time, I love Patty!
